RADHAKRISHANA AND DASAVATAR (Incarnations of Vishnu) PATTACHITRA PAINTING
PATTACHITRA is derived from patta meaning cloth and chitra meaning painting or picture in odia.
Pattachitra Paintings are done in traditional Odissi style (in the state of Odisha) on chalk Coated Cotton cloth canvases using Hindu religious and mythological themes.
MATERIAL USED IN PATTACHITRA PAINTING :
1.An old or new piece of cotton cloth (which make canvas patta)
2.Tamarind seed Gum
3.Six Natural Colours (Sankha[white],Hingula[red],Haritala[yellow],Neela[Blue],Dhau[Brown],Deepakala[Black from lamp]
4.Brushes (Brushes made of Mongoose or mouse hair to form the fine tip)
